Nonspherical (biconvex lens-shaped) particles have been created. Because of this shape, they are expected to provide higher light transmittance, diffusion, and reflection and adhesion than conventional spherical particles. These characteristics would be highly valued in many areas including plastics, paint, and cosmetics.

Size distribution control
n MBX-S series
This series has sharper particle size distribution, produced by a new polymerization method. It is useful in antiblocking of film for which coarse particles should be excluded. We can provide these particle at a size which suits your purposes. Please contact us for more information.
n MBX-SS series
This series is monodisperse particles with a sharper size distribution than MBX-S series.

Solvent-resistance control
n MB20X, MB30X series
Solvent resistance has been improved to prevent swelling when used for ink and paint. Data on solvent resistance The data below show solvent absorption (g) by 1 g of polymer after 48-hour immersion at 50ºC.

Refractive index control
Light diffusion property depends on a difference in refractive index between base resin and Techpolymer. Various light diffusion property can be obtained by adjusting the refractive index of Techpolymer. The refractive index can be adjusted to anywhere between 1.49 and 1.59. Particles with a refractive index outside this range are also being developed. Please contact us for more information.
Adjusting hardness
The hardness of particles can be adjusted by controlling the composition of monomers and the amount of cross-linking agents. Series with a lower hardness than the MBX series are available, the BMX, ARX, and ACX series. If you have another type of particle in mind, please contact us. We are waiting for your call.
Particle size
The mean particle size can be adjusted to between 2 and 200 μm.
Please specify the size your need.
Pore formation
Particles can be made porous. Their porosity can also be adjusted.
Heat resistance
The heat resistance of particles can be improved, to suit the conditions and environment in which they will be used.
Surface modification
We can provide functional groups such as hydroxyl and carboxyl groups to meet your needs.
Adjustment of molecular weight
The weight of molecules used as binders can be adjusted as you require. This can be used to improve the dissolution velocity and adjust the viscosity.
